Previous repair

~8 hours of labor billed, ~4 hours shown by Coggin's own texts

This repair also required three genuine BMW parts. When I later checked pricing, all three had been priced above BMW's suggested retail price.

What happened

Coggin initially attempted to charge me for approximately 8 hours of labor on this repair. At the time, Coggin's own automated text-message system showed roughly four hours between the notification that work had begun and the notification that the vehicle was being washed — typically the last step before a vehicle is ready for pickup.

After I questioned the labor charge, Coggin agreed to reduce it.

But labor wasn't the only issue. This repair required three genuine BMW parts, and when I later checked their pricing, I found that all three had been priced substantially above BMW's suggested retail price. This wasn't one unusually priced component — it was three parts, three prices above BMW MSRP.
